I also saw eagles today, bald eagles and golden eagles.
Golden Eagle sitting on the ice.
As I watched he took off...........

 Skimming across the ice.

Found throughout the Northern Hemisphere, the Golden Eagle is common in western North America, but rare in the East.
It is one of the largest birds of prey in North America.
Here is a Golden and a Bald Eagle in the same tree.

 As they took off together.
 Another Golden in the tree.

Another Golden joined the first one in the tree.

I never get tired of seeing these majestic birds.

Snowy Day for Short Eared Owls

Yesterday (1-11-2011) I saw owls on the ground for the first time, I thought they might have been horned owls, but Rick, who is the person to go to for identifying, says he thinks they are more of the short eared owls. They were so camouflaged that I was sitting in front of one and didn't see it for a long time, it must have moved and caught my eye, after I saw that one I saw another, know I will look even harder to spot those on the ground the next time.

This is a wide shot to see how good they are at hiding
I went back the next day to find them in the sunshine, but they were hard for me to see, check out Rick's "Owls and more in the middle of the day", he didn't have any trouble finding them.

Sunny and Beautiful

Today was a sunny beautiful day and the eagles thought so too.

Bald Eagle and Golden Eagle In Muskegon

Muskegon has a state of the art wast water facility, that has many acres of wildlife habitat. For more info on the site see: http://muskegon.wzzm13.com/content/get-know-muskegon-county-waste-water-systemhttp://muskegon.wzzm13.com/content/get-know-muskegon-county-waste-water-system
Muskegon residents are fortunate to be able to view the many 'wild' visitors to the site.
I am an avid bird watcher and have spent many hours taking pictures. This year I have been able to see both Bald Eagles and Golden Eagles at the site. Here are some of the pictures I took in the fall.
This bald eagle was in a tree by the administration building.
This one is in the woods off Maple Island Rd
