What a great day!

Well, I have been worried about my local Pileated Woodpecker breading team as of late as I have not seen Mr. Pileated in quite some time.  Well, today was my lucky day.  Sitting here at my computer, preparing to upload a few more photos of the Sandhill Cranes and kind of daydreaming looking out the window and in flies a Pileated and sits right on top of the feeder outside the window.  I didnt get too excited, Mrs. Pileated comes to visit frequently now but upon closer inspection, this particular bird is much more nervous than usual.  And to my delight, I notice the unmistakable Red Mustache and full Red Crown of the male!  My photos are ugly, taken through the window on a rainy day as I didnt want to scare him away.  I foresee baby Pileated Woodpeckers in our future!
